New Mexico lies in the southwestern region of the U.S. and borders with five states and also two Mexican states. It comprises of the greatest percentage of Hispanics at 43% and third highest of Native Americans. With a very large land area and a very sparsely populated density of 15 people per square mile, there is a good chance of finding a lot of New Mexico cheap land for sale.
Most people think of New Mexico land as all dry desert but there's a few different types of landscape in this state from red deserts, to elevated flat areas called mesas, to high mountain peaks covered in snow. Since the southern part of the Rocky Mountains lie in the north in New Mexico, a large portion of the state is actually covered by forest wilderness making up National Forests.
